The Penygraig Labour Club welcomed the Welsh Dragon Matthew Stevens on Friday 18th November and Saturday 19th November for back-to-back exhibitions and the former Masters and UK Championship winner didn't disappoint with some breathtaking snooker climaxing with a sensational 147.

The Penygraig Labour is renowned for hosting spectacular exhibitions with Mark Williams posting nine centuries in 11 frames including two 147s in April 2022 leaving the spectators with memories they will never forget. Other recent exhibitions have included fellow South-Walian professionals Michael White, Ryan Day and Duane Jones.

With a full house for both days, Matthew wowed the crowd with his usual fluency and incredible cueing to knock in a 102 on the Friday which also included four other 50+ breaks on the night.

On the Saturday Matthew was made to work hard as he faced two up and coming brilliant Welsh youngsters, Luke James and Dainton Barrass, with the latter in particular putting up a great performance and was unfortunate not to knock in a frame-winning break as he split the pack after potting a black on 35 only for a stray red to go into the middle pocket for a foul.

As some of Matthew's idols and peers watched on, including Welsh amateur legends Ron Jones, Bob Watkins and Gareth Perry and ex-professional Anthony Davies, he continued to score heavily including a beautiful 122 in his seventh frame.

But the best was yet to come as in the ninth and final frame against the raffle winner, Nathan Coburn, who had succumbed to a maximum against Mark Williams previously in the year, as Matthew stroked in a long red and proceeded to clear the table in spectacular fashion for a magnificent 147 to finish another memorable exhibition in the Penygraig Labour Club.
