We are delighted to announce that Ric Washer, a WPBSA Coach and the Redz Academy Coach, has agreed to become an Ambassador for South Wales Snooker.

He becomes our second Ambassador after Welsh Women No.1, Laura Evans, as we look to create a passionate and diverse community focused on our goal of creating opportunities to get more people in South Wales playing and enjoying snooker.

Ric is as passionate as they come as he demonstrated when we visited him and his team of youngsters in Redz in late 2022As the lead coach, he is focused on growing the game from grass roots level for juniors aged eight to 18 by organising and running group activities and competitions in a safe friendly environment and providing guidance in demonstrating the basic elements of the game using the WPBSA blueprint.

He coaches individual players of all ages and ability from beginner level upwards using the WPBSA blueprint and the “White to Black” programme whilst encouraging players to gain and develop their own skills, through providing them with and demonstrating bespoke practice drills. He has also delivered two Cue Zone sessions at the Welsh Open 2020, including finals day.

We look forward to working closely with Ric to help support and create opportunities for youngsters in South Wales over the coming months and years.
